Train Your Brain to Fall Asleep In 30 Seconds. Here’s How!

samedi 12 décembre 2015
Insomnia is a sleep disorder which is characterized by inability to fall or stay asleep. If it takes you more than an hour to fall asleep every night, it means that you spend more than nine 40-hour weeks on this activity every year.
The good news is that Dr. Andrew Weil has the solution for this problem. According to him, yoga and breathing techniques can be very effective in providing a good night sleep.

The exercise is called The 4-7-8 Breathing Exercise and here are the instructions:
  1. Completely breathe out through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
  2. Close your mouth and slowly breathe in through your nose, counting to four to yourself.
  3. Hold your breath for a count of seven.
  4. Breathe out completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.
  5. Repeat the cycle for three more times, for a total of four breaths.
Make sure you inhale and exhale deeply each time. This exercise will lower your heart rate and calm your mind.
